Company established in 1931 by Mr. Nathmull Sarda who migrated from Rajasthan and started trading in Tea and various other commodities. The next decade saw his only son Mr. Nandlall Sarda taking interest in the marketing of Tea. Initially, the business in Tea was, basically, wholesale supplies to Tea Buyers in Calcutta and other places, since at that time, the Auction system was not very common and lots of buyers used to deal directly with wholesalers or plantations. Thus Mr. Sarda gradually built up a very good relationship with many of the prominent Tea Plantations. He then opened a modest store at a prominent location on Laden La Road in Darjeeling and ventured into retailing of Darjeeling Teas.
